1. New Devices (Manufacturer’s Warranty)
All brand-new smartphones, laptops, and tablets sold at Ernest Gadgets come with the Official Manufacturer’s Warranty.
- Duration: Typically 12 to 24 months (depending on the brand: Apple, Samsung, HP, Dell, etc.).
- Coverage: This covers all factory defects, hardware failures, and internal malfunctions.
- How to Claim: You can take your device directly to any authorized service center (e.g., Apple Care, Samsung Service Center) with your Ernest Gadgets receipt, or bring it to us, and we will facilitate the process for you.
2. Premium UK-Used Devices (Ernest Testing Warranty)
We are famous for our “Grade A” UK-Used gadgets. To ensure your satisfaction, we offer an industry-leading 7-Day Testing Warranty.
- Duration: 7 days from the date of purchase or delivery.
- Coverage: This covers all internal hardware components including the motherboard, camera, Wi-Fi, and screen functionality.
- The Goal: This period allows you to thoroughly test the battery life and performance in your own environment.
3. Accessories Warranty
- Original Chargers & Power Banks: 3 Months Warranty.
- Audio Gear (Airpods/Headphones): 1 Month Warranty.
4. What is NOT Covered?
To maintain fairness, the warranty is voided under the following conditions:
- Physical Damage: Cracked screens, broken ports, or dents caused by drops.
- Liquid Damage: Any evidence of water or moisture entry into the device.
- Unauthorized Repair: If the device has been opened or repaired by a third-party engineer outside of Ernest Gadgets.
- Software Tampering: Rooting, jailbreaking, or using unauthorized “cracked” software that bricks the device.
- Natural Disasters: Damage from fire, floods, or power surges (we highly recommend using a surge protector for laptops).
5. The “Ernest Gadgets” Security Seal
Every device we sell features a small Tamper-Evident Security Sticker.
Important: If this seal is removed, broken, or tampered with within your warranty period, the warranty becomes void. This seal is our way of verifying that the internals of the device have not been altered.
6. How to Make a Claim
If you notice a fault with your device, don’t panic! Follow these steps:
- Stop Usage: Turn off the device if it is overheating or showing electrical faults.
- Contact Support: Message us on WhatsApp (+234 813 154 0754) with your Order ID and a video of the issue.
- Visit Us: Bring the device to our Ikeja (Glory Plaza) or Agege branch for a technical assessment.
- Resolution: Our engineers will inspect the device. If the fault is covered, we will repair it for free or provide a direct replacement.
